Selling on ebay is easy, however if you really want to be successful, you need to sell like you mean it, that means being professional. Now that you’ve got the basics down. How can you optimize the experience for you, and your customers? 

1. Remeber keywords are just as important on ebay, as it is on your blog or website. When listing your merchandise do not over do it, but make certain that you are very descriptive, give details of the product you are selling along with photos that are crisp and clear. Make sure to be helpful and informative, make it easy for your buyer to choose you. You get the picture right.
2. If you are selling the same item, do not over list that item, you want to create the feeling that it is the one and only blue Jean jacket from 1959. The only exception to this rule, is if you own the exclusive rights to the merchandise, and you are the only business they can get it from. Otherwise you do not want to cheapen your wares, rare is good, except for your steak, I will have mine well done.
3. If you plan on going big time, of course you must register your business, get a business license, maybe even a tax id. Check your state and any federal laws, to make sure you are legit, you probably can operate your business from a jail cell, but you probably do not want to. If your business grows to the point that you need help, be prepared to offer them a 1099 form, again check your state and federal laws so that this info makes dollars and sense.
4. Protect your seller rating, that means do not sell junk, it is okay to sell used items. However selling items that are defective or just plain does not work is one way to get a bad reputation that will not be easily overcome. No No Don’t Do It.
5. I know you want it quick and easy, but I am going to tell you, like I have told you all along, multiple streams of income is the best way to make money on the web. This means, you should link your ebay business to your blogs and your website’s. You have to think about quantification, getting the big bang for your time, doubling and tripling your efforts to break free from the work week grind of nine to five. So in short, though ebay could be a great way to make good money. Your customers will more than likely be looking to see if you also have a presence online, and they will tell other people, about their experience, why not give them and their friends some place to go.
6. Do Not settle for the status qou, get educated, your buyers will be educated, they will know if you are the real deal. By learning all you can about conducting business on ebay, you will protect yourself from the scammers, and you will grow a succesful business that will last for a long and profitable time.

Before we start talking about other avenues to making money on the web, I want to stress the importance of just doing it, just getting started. You do not have to settle for Just Over Broke.

You have laid the foundation to profit from the internet, you have created multiple streams of income, you have a blog, a website, you have started a relationship with major internet giants, that can help you grow your business, by means of affiliate marketing and the adsense program. If you stick with it your business will become profitable. If you have not taking the information in this blog, and the information scattered on the web, and not started a business. I have to ask what are you waiting for? Let me tell you a secret about making money on the web. This secret may suprise you, you may not believe me. However, I will tell you anyway, and it will not even cost you any money. Ready, there is no secret, there is no magic formula, every tool on the web, has already been invented and reinvented. All you have to do is just start, and the really great thing about the web, you do not have to recreate the wheel, all you have to do is put it in motion.

When a spider builds it’s web, did you know, that it will use several different gland types to produce different silks, some spiders, will produce eight different types of silks in a lifetime. Though the purposes, the reasons why a spider spins web, is to catch it’s prey, to create a home, and to annoy the mess out of humans. I think one of the best reasons a spider builds it’s web, is to conserve energy. Thats right, imagine if it has to spend all day chasing its prey, it could end up a really hungry spider. While the time is available to you, I think you should use every opportunity availble, just as the spider uses different glands and different webs to achieve their real objectives. So too the internet, the world wide web, offers you the ability to use so many different tools to achieve your goals, your real objectives. What ever those goals and objectives maybe.

With that being said, and you are probably tired of the pep talk, maybe you did not even like my analogy, so I will get back to helping you put ever tool, all the options that are available, to help you, make money on the web.

A business you can operate from your smart phone. Yes, a business you can do while you are out shopping, while you are running other tasks and chores, and it will compliment your blog, and your website. By adding this facet to your business plan, you will also attract more traffic to your website and blog, but another reason to do this is to have an alternate money maker, that can be done independently from your blog and website. When we last talked, you created a new page, you added some items to that page, and by now you are probably comfortable creating pages. If not keep practicing, eventually you will have a fully operational website. Did you get a chance to explore the other options at the top of the workspace? If you did not, you should click on each option and take them for a test drive. A good idea is to create an under construction page and use it to practice, or if you feel like a pro try editing an existing page. One of the most important links to add to all your pages is a link to your blog. 

As you become more advanced with this software, you will want to add plugins. Plugins are small programs that enhance the user experience and adds more functionality to your site. Some plugins are free, others you will have to pay for. Most come with a great deal of support, plus user forums, so that you are never in the dark. Note: like all software, from time to time, you will receive updates, which you will receive notifications for, please for your security, do not forget to update. Wordpress is an awesome tool, and if you take the time to learn all of it’s functions, you could create an awesome website.

If Wordpress is not your forte, you probably noticed your host provider, also offered other tools to help you to create a dynamic website. There are also other tools, as I have mentioned in a previous post, these tools are called (WYSIWYG) what you see is what you get. You can browse the different types online at (amazon.com/web development software) or try your favorite computer or software store. If you have a Mac computer, you will want to see if iWeb is installed on your Mac, this is a very useful program. Below, check out these programs, examples only, I have no recommendation, I picked them because other users gave them high ratings.

The easiest website design program availble, thats what is said about this program, but you will have to see for yourself. This tool is visual, allowing you to complete your website by using the drag and drop method. You may not have to know any HTML. Maybe I will take this program for a test drive, but you can kick the tires at amazon.com (Site Spinner), read the reviews.

No HTML required, drag and drop simplicity, an intuitive interface, loaded with powerful tools to help you design professinal websites effortlessly, even if you have never done it before. Wow, building websites has never been so easy. Maybe this is the one for you, check it out at amazon.com (Serif WebPlus X5), see the reviews, so you can make an educated buy.

Most of these programs are easy to use, and the name says it all, what you see is what you get. The best feature with these programs are that, the user does not have to know much if any HTML.

The options that I have presented, will allow you to get started making money on the web, with very little money. Of course there are other ways to get started, but they may cost a great deal of money, remember, I started this blog to help those individuals, who are tired of throwing their hard earned money at dead end leads, infomericials, webatisements pun intended, and the like. So the next time you see that fake news report about making $5000 a week working from home, you know, that there are other options, before you decide to spend your money for nothing.

I hope you have not forgotten, your blog, because now is the time to link the blog, with your website. It is time to get down to business, you now have another money maker in play, to do your bidding. These two sites will increase your visibility, you have created a niche, a brand. Imagine being featured not just in one major newspaper, but in two or more major newspapers. Now if you are a criminal, that may not be a good idea. On the other hand if you are a business owner, and you are trying to get your up start off the ground, you could use all the advertising you can get. In this case you have now increased your chances that people will find you on the web. When those search engines are crawling all over the web searching for new and fresh ideas, there you are glimmering, shimmering, shining, saying pick me.

So how do you link, your blog and WordPress website, add your affiliate links, don’t forget Google Adsense, and other items to your WordPress website. Without any further delay, drum role please, and the white envelope. 

It is time for a little HTML, hey, where you going, come back here. This is easier than you think, if you can copy and paste than you will be just fine. You have already done this several times with your blog. Time to create a new page. Log in to your dashboard, scroll over the pages option in the menu, and click add new. Enter your title, one, two or three words is suficient, maybe it will be your about us page, or a contact us page, or your get it now page. Below the title is the workspace, you will see Upload/Insert  if you click the button, you will get a pop up that will let you add media, either by drag and drop or by selecting a file. Maximum file size is 10 MB, once the media is added, you can add descriptions and titles. What do you add? Maybe a picture, a movie, a recording, some fancy art work, or a picture of the item you are advertising. If you just want to add text, do not click the media button. Just start typing in the box, if you want to add a banner to this page, than paste your HTML code that you got from your affiliate account, in the box. Before we go any further, take a look at the upper right hand corner of the box, you will see two tabs Visual and HTML. I suggest you select HTML, especially if you are adding banners and other types of HTML code. If you are happy with the data you have put in the box, it is time to publish your page. To the right is the publish box, and the page attributes box, above those boxes is the screen options and help button, use them. Time to personalize your WordPress site. Looking at the leftside of the Dashboard, near the bottom click the settings tab. You are now in the general settings, here you will give your site a title, add a brief description of what your site is about, and other settings to which you can see. Your site title and tagline will be displayed on your page, the title does not necessarily need to be the same as your web address. Unlike your web address, the title can be changed whenever you want. I bet you think, I will be going over each option, no we are not going to do that. Like I tell people that I tutor, and instruct, I will show you the path, it is your job to take it. I also say go ahead and break it, because fixing it is the best way to learn.

The next selection we will talk about is, appearance, go on click on it. Here you can select a theme, and manage your themes. By selecting customize, you will be granted access to change the header, background, title and menus. Widgets will allow you to add a calendar, an archive of your posts, if you choose to use the site as a blog. You can add a custom menu, and a whole host of other options, go on click it, just drag the widget to a sidebar on the right where you see the primary widget area. Menus will allow you to create custom menus, click menus and follow the directions. Menus on your site will allow visitors more options than just the title bar, menus also allow you to direct visitors to where you want them to go. The header button will allow you to change the image to something, more suitable to what you are promoting, or gives your site personality. You can upload your own image from a file on your computer or use the default images, you also can show random images for different pages. This website is yours, experiment, make it your own, do not hold back, let your creativity flow, you have the power. Do not forget to save any changes, by clicking the save changes button at the bottom. Back to the top, in the appearance section, there are two tabs, Mangage Themes, and Install Themes. The search option are many, giving you a wide variety of options, to help you find the best theme for your website. If you like, you can just browse the featured themes, or newest themes that have been added to this unique software. After experimenting with this software, you will forget that you are building a website. Using a sophisticated langauge, that could possibly be your ticket to ride, making money on the web, working from home, leaving the boss behind, or just maybe, it will be a cool hobby, that you can show off to your friends, and they will think you are somekind of Webmaster.

Let’s talk more about setting up a Wordpress site. Depending on the host provider you choose, you will have to install the Wordpress software. 

1. Login in to your Host Account. For bluehost (http://www.bluehost.com/track/ntelagnc), scroll down to SimpleScripts Installations. You will see the WordPress Icon, click it and follow the instructions. For Godaddy (http://x.co/ntelagnc), you will find the Icon under options and settings, again click and follow the directions. In both of these scenarios you should be in the control panel of your host provider.
2. If you have more than one domain name, you will need to select the domain name you would like to use.
3. When you are finish entering all the information, you should get a confirmation screen, confirm, and wait for your email.
4. Got your email, time to log in to the Wordpress dashboard for the first time.
5. Open your browser and go to the domain name where you installed Wordpress.
6. Looks a little plain, do not worry, this is where you will fix that. Take a look around, this is your work space. After you log in, you will find there are many themes to pick from.
7. Ready to log in to the Dashboard and Administration Panel, you should see a link labeled, Site Admin. Clicking that link will take you to the Administration login page.
8. Log in to your site using ther username and password you selected during the installation process.
9. Welcome to the Dashboard, this where the fun begins, where your site will come to life.
10. Look around, touch some stuff, like a kid in a candy store, just don’t lick yet.

There is so much you can do with this software, and you can access it on just about any computer, it is very versatile. I like it because you do not need to fiddle with other software, and you can design a really dynamic site.
